COVID-19 Response Fund for Refugee Families in Indiana: Prevention Kits, Rent & Utilities Assistance

We have suspended our weekly programs and are preparing to respond to the crises as it impacts the refugee community we are reaching in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

We have heard from several of you that would like to give a donation to go towards helping the inevitable struggle that is going to come to the immigrant community.   As a result, our board is establishing

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response Fund for Families (GOAL: $15,000)

As we are able to obtain products,  we initially desire to help assist families in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in two ways:

1.) Distribution of Coronavirus Prevention Kits.   These kits are about $10 to put together.   As we are able to obtain items that are in high demand, we want to distribute them to refugee families. Families do not have cleaning products.

            • Toilet Paper
            • Hand Sanitizer
            • Soap
            • Disinfected Wipes

2.)  We will also be using these funds to help families who are impacted by COVID-19 and cannot work and help them with rent and utility bills.   We will pay the landlord and utility companies directly to help cover a portion of these bills (not 100% of the bill)   We will qualify individuals and families and spread our assistance to help as many as possible.     Families will not be provided ongoing aid but just a time benefit.

As you are aware, most families struggle economically and live paycheck to paycheck, as they seek to create a new life here in America.

This is one way you can help the most vulnerable in our community.
