This summer in their annual Vacation Bible School at the Plainfield Christian Church in Plainfield, IN, students donated and assembled 30 gift bags for refugee families who Migros Aid serves.

The bags were filled with practical, household items like for refugee families.

Students played games as they filled the bags and also took time to pray for the refugees in our city and around the world.

Riley Weaver, Impact Director and Missions Minister, says, “Each year, we feature an overseas partner.  This year at our VBS, we also wanted to give our kids an opportunity to serve in their community.  Packing care packages for refugee families was a great experience for our kids. It was invaluable for them to learn that they have friends and neighbors from refugee backgrounds living close to us.”

If your church wants to participate in assembling gift bags for refugee families, please contact us.      As most refugees living in Indianapolis below poverty,  this is a practical way to show God’s love and involve others in your community to serve.
